Heart rate gives a reading one minute then the next, it can’t pick up on it. This is frequent during workouts, in addition to sleep. I’ve tried loosening it, tightening it, have tried multiple places on my wrist to place the watch, but can ONLY pick up on my heart rate if the watch is so close to my hand that if I flick my wrist up the screen vibrates and comes on. This is especially awkward when you’re a light sleeper like me and am often blinded in the night even with “Sleep Mode” on. The “Auto Wake” option is often switched between on and off, yet I don’t change it. Not sure how it happens unless I hit something during activities.
The battery charges fully in usually under an hour, however although I have notifications very minimal, battery has never once lasted the time advertised. I have to charge it about every 3-4 days depending on how many workouts I tracked.
I like the app layout, it shows me all my goals on one page that can be modified for your own goals. It gives you a 6-month free trial and is $79.99 after. You have access to workouts and mindful content obtained from several resources/apps, such as Aura and Calm. It connects to my phone great with no issues, but you do have to leave the app open (running in the background) in order to allow it to sync in real time. It gives you notification reminders if you happen to close the app. Set up was super simple and the actual quality of the watch is durable. I just wish it could monitor everything a bit more accurately (I think all my issues stem from the watch not being able to consistently pick up on my heart rate). The weirdest thing it does is think I’m swimming EVERY time I’m folding laundry LOL. Workout for the day? Complete, per Fitbit.
I purchased my Fitbit on 4/30/25 and just purchased a new Apple Watch today because I don’t feel the Fitbit is accurate and am tired of dealing with the guessing game of steps, sleep, etc. If you’re thinking of switching like I was, not worth it.
The real issue is the inaccuracy! I was driving a tow truck all day today! Tow trucks & pretty much all trucks are very bouncy! I watched the step counter go up every time we went over a bump causing my arm to move! Even while we were on the highway doing 70mph! I could understand if we were stuck in traffic doing 2-3 mph & my arm moves up & down it could mistake me for walking but at 70 mph?
It's a shame because I really liked it & I'm getting more into fitness now & wanted a reliable pedometer & something that would track approximately how many calories I burned & I thought I found the solution!
But don't take my word for it! Seriously! Try it out yourself! It might work perfectly for your application!
Still, I was happy until a few days ago, when the screen started glitching while scrolling. I also noticed the heart rate would sometimes jump unreasonably high, like 160, while doing something as simple as walking at a slow pace (I've struggled to get as high as 160 while running on a treadmill). This is a problem because it will cause the Fitbit to overestimate how many calories you're burning. I didn't notice these issues in the first few weeks. Luckily, this started two days before my return window but if it had happened a little bit later, I would have been stuck with a glitchy device. I'm not sure if this was only an unlucky defect with mine, but it's something to keep in mind. I might try rebuying because I was happy with the device before the glitches started.
