SO COMFORTABLE!!! I use this mat for my Pilates and it is so nice on my lower back. I love that its thick and one added bonus is that it seems just a little longer than my OG mat. I’m 5’8 functionality for tallness is nice!

Borrowed two extremely sub-par yoga mats from my neighbors recently. Used them for a day and said nah - with my broken wrist and 30-year-old chronic back pain and ever-worsening knees, i immediately said $40 it is; I bought this the same day. I'm 5'9 and this mat is plenty long for me to do my stretches.

This is a quality mat which is truly an inch thick and very supportive. I have 4 pets and I couldn't stand doing stretches on the bare floor or husky-hairy rugs.

I didn't notice any chemical smell upon unboxing, but I let it sit away for several hours anyway. Hopefully I didn't catch cancer from the giant warning sign on the box, lol.

Anyway, I'd buy this again, but you likely wouldn't need to with regular maintenance.

I was looking for a new yoga mat because I have multiple injuries and needed something with extra cushion, and this one absolutely fit the bill. It is true to size and actually has a full 1 inch thickness, which makes a big difference. I am much more comfortable now when doing yoga and floor exercises.

The included carrying strap works well and makes it easy to store, although once it is rolled up, it is noticeably larger in diameter than a standard yoga mat, but that is expected with the extra thickness.

The only downside is that it had a very strong chemical odor when I first unpackaged it. I would definitely recommend letting it air out outside if you can. I did not have outdoor space, so I left it in a separate room with the door closed, and the smell faded after about a day. If you are sensitive to chemical smells, just be prepared for that part.

Other than that, it has been great. Supportive, cushioned, and exactly what I needed.

This is a super thick mat. 1" means the roll is giant. Compare that to my yoga mat picture which is a more standard 1/4" mat. So be prepared to haul a significantly bigger mat around .

I will say this is very light and not a nuisance to carry at all. The dual elastic band is easy to wrap the mat into a roll and carry.

Ideal for people who want extra cushioning for the knees and elbows. Really comfortable product

I bought the mat because my other mats were not thick enough after having carpal tunnel surgery. The new mat is perfect! I use it for yoga exercises on my back porch. It cushions my hands, knees and elbows well. The length and width are perfect. So far it seems to be durable enough. It’s surprisingly lightweight and would be easy to carry to the gym.

Ok, I bought two of these, one dark green and one "sage" green or something. It was kind of odd that they didn't ship together. One arrived a couple of days after the first, but no matter...

I read A TON of reviews on a TON of different yoga mats on Amazon before choosing to try these. I was looking for something long or extra-long that would be a good fit for my boo (6ft tall). As well as something that could roll up easily (as in, it comes with its own straps or a carrying case) but wouldn't cost a whole lot. I mean, we're talking about foam mats here — I don't need one engineered by a rocket scientist. 🚀 I definitely wanted the extra padding for our knees, and there are many options to choose from on Amazon — but I noticed a lot of comments regarding [bad] smells. Even in the reviews for this one. Still... based on ratings, price, and other factors, I chose to take my chances with this listing. I will say, both mats appear to match the colors advertised. 👍

When the first (dark green) one arrived, it was packaged neatly and there was nothing defective about it. I made it a point to unwrap it immediately to see if it had a weird smell & was very pleased that it did not! 😀

Then, when the second one (light / sage green) arrived I did the same thing. Immediately inspected & unwrapped it. THIS ONE SMELLED ODD. Hard to describe, but it's like a strange manufacturing smell. Bear in mind, these are made of foam material & dyed somewhere along the process. So, whether the smell was a remnant of the dying process or just from being stored in a smelly corner of a warehouse, I'm not sure. But again, for comparison, the dark army-green colored mat did not come with any untawdry smells. So that seemed odd & is why I suspect maybe it has to do with the dying process. Maybe it's more likely to happen with certain colors. 🤷‍♀️

HOWEVER, it's worth mentioning that it was only a temporary unpleasantness. I unrolled it, hung it over a chair to let gravity kind of deform it, and let it air out for a few days (indoors). The room didn't get over saturated by the smell / it didn't linger thankfully and the mat itself didn't have a lingering smell either. After airing out for a couple (or a few) days it smelled "normal," whatever that really is. Haha. So I rolled it back up for storage. Our closet doesn't smell funny or anything. IT'S ALL GOOD 👍

The quality of the strap(s) provided seems "economy" to me. Pretty standard elastic straps. I'll be impressed if they last very long. The stitching on them is fine although it doesn't seem particularly sturdy, but they work and do their job just fine right now! I like that it's all sewn together as one piece, so that it doubles as a handle to carry them with. Just because they are so thick, especially when rolled up, I would prefer elastic straps that aren't so thin — but I did choose one of the more economical options around here. So, that's a "you get what you pay for" kinda thing I feel like.

I'm looking forward to getting back into stretching & yoga and glad to now have a couple of mats that could also work great for outdoor sessions, thanks to the thickness of them!

Bought this particular brand because the mats are so thick and my boyfriend has had the black mat for years. I hope mine becomes as soft as his with time. You can see the imprint difference after a few seconds (no imprint on the pink) because it’s still so firm. But I prefer the aged soft texture.

The best cushioned mat!! As a Pilates instructor is eases the pain that can be caused by using thinner mats. Easy to store and transport to and from workout classes! Great value for the price as well! 10/10 recommend!

The mat is cushiony & very comfortable. I've used thin ones in the past, and there is absolutely no comparison. The only caveat is if space for storage is an issue. When you roll it up, the diameter is about 10 & a half inches. I chose the color, sage, and have it rolled up in the corner (for easy access), looking a little like a nice, quiet house plant--but assertive enough to call out to me every morning to unroll it and to get some stretching/yoga/plank going. Great for someone (like me) who needs a little extra push.

Received this product over the weekend. Immediately unrolled it and used the mat. No foul smell from packaging and provides all the support & comfort I need. I work out (pilates reform board and Pilates bar) on a marble floor, so the 1” padding is necessary!!! I previously used a 1/2” mat and it did not provide enough padding.

I wanted a really thick Mat go under my stand up desk. This is perfect. I cut it in half and trimmed a little off and used heavy duty double sided tape. It fits perfectly between the legs of the desk and is so comfortable!!

The quality of the mat is there ! Some reviews showed a couple rips in the material but I feel like that can be expected with the material of the mat? It kept its roll for quite a bit so flatten it out first for a bit if you are planning to take it to a class. I had shoulder and wrist surgery and really needed more support for my workouts and this was it! The extra cushion is a great. Also, the colors are so good.

This is a great yoga mat, although I’m not sure if I would take it to a class, as it is quite thick and takes up a lot of room. But it’s perfect for the house, giving me lots of support under my knees when doing certain poses. It does need some time to be unrolled, and spread out for it to flatten properly

I have recently found myself getting into yoga. And one of the biggest things I struggle with with yoga is my knees. They are extremely sensitive to hard surfaces, so it was very stressful for me to find a yoga mat that was thick enough to support my knees and make The positions I’m in very comfortable. Even with any yoga mats being on them, they would often dirty up easily or break off from the friction of my body.

But I have to say this yoga mat has definitely given me a positive experience. It is very thick and gives me a lot of support on my feet and when sitting. One of the greatest things about this mat as well is that it doesn’t shrink when you sit on it so when you get up, you have a big spot that’s dented.

I find it more, comfortable to be able to relax and do yoga now, and my knees feel great. 100% worth the money. It also comes with a tie to put your mat up and safe to create more space and storage. It is very easy and light to carry around.

Been looking to replace my old yoga mat and finally decided to buy this one. I wanted a thicker mat that gives more back support, and this one does the job. It came with a strap, which is good for storage. Really in a “one inch” thick mat.

As I get older the need for comfort is a priority. This yoga mat is the perfect amount of thickness so my back and rear are not bothered by the hard floor. It rolls up easily and is light in weight for carrying. They have a really lovely list of colours to choose from too. I’d order this product again

If you are thinking about getting this go for it. I love this so much. It a bit out of my price range so I was a little hesitant,but my goodness was this worth it. It's very thick and comfortable, great for workouts and stretches.

Good, thick exercise mat to save my knees from the tile floor! I got the 1" ... honestly I should've gotten slightly thinner since balancing on a thicker (squishy) mat is a little tough haha but it does work great!

I liked how thick it was and super comfortable for doing situps and stretching exercises for the price. It’s a spectacular deal I plan on buying more. Ty.

it’s a really nice yoga mat it’s super thick so I can’t feel the ground under and it doesn’t give me any pains when I’m doing planks or situps my elbows nor my tailbone hurts. Super nice it’s easy to clean and I love the color. I’m 5’10 and i’m able to lay on it and not feel too tall.

I didn’t realize how much I needed this yoga mat until I received it! It looks exactly like the picture and does have a bit of a rubber smell, but it doesn’t bother me much and it’s slowly going away.

The strap that it comes with works, but a similar strap came with my previous mat that eventually wore out and broke. So I expect that this one will as well in time especially since this mat is thicker. It does take a moment to roll up since it is thicker.

I’ve never had a 1 inch mat, but this is absolutely perfect and what I needed for my weak knees lol. It’s longer and wider than the mat I replaced which I’m happy about. Now I can do my yoga classes in pure comfort.

I'm 68; I use this Retrospec Solana Yoga Mat (1" Thick) daily to have something stable & cushioned underneath me as I do routine exercises to maintain body strength. I highly recommend it!

So far I live this mat. It seems to be heavy duty and soft. I love that when rolled up you can put straps on it and you also have a handle. It is better than expected for the price

This is a dupe of a more expensive name brand mat but the quality doesn’t feel like a dupe. It’s super thick, squishy, and comfy especially for a curvier body. I wish I had purchased this months ago but better late than never! I’ll be using this for yoga, Pilates, and stability ball workouts.

Great padding and quality product. I stretch every day and this helps with my knees and all other body parts. It even feels good on the bottom of my feet. Great addition to my home gym. Very comfortable!

This mat was the color advertised and it was super thick. I've used for about 4 months now and it's withheld me jumping on it and using weights on it. The only downside is it doesn't stick to the floor as well anymore.

This is really thick and comfort, but yoga beginners will fell it difficult to balance on their feet because it is very soft but for my knee is perfect, I don't feel the floor at all. No complaints, I'm very happy.

When I was younger I used the regular yoga mats that are as thick as a couple napkins and that was okay. I’m a little older now and my RA and Lupus make my joints a more tender. I’ve purchased mats before that claimed to be “thick” or even “extra thick” only to end up with the a standard yoga mat. As you can see in the image this one really is a thick boy. It is amazing to be able to kneel or put weight joints without feeling like I’m on concrete. I use mine over 98 year old hard wood floors and those babies have no give. There is no carpet or padding backing mine up, just the soft squish of the mat. The mat it’s is not rough but does have enough texture to not be slippery to stand on or slide if used on a slippery surface. Not only is it the perfect mat when you are using it, it comes with its own carrying strap sized exactly to fit this extra thick mat. Now, I know it is the the intended use, but because the strap is so well made, I use it like a yoga strap to help stretch my legs. I’ve practiced yoga for nearly 25 years and this is the best mat I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend enough.

Okay, I normally don’t write reviews but as soon as I pulled this mat out and compared it to what I was using I had to. You can definitely tell how much cushion this mat has compared to others. My old one was so hard on my back and knees but I’m looking forward to using this new mat which looks and feels amazing. I’m excited to use this mat.

The yoga mat is very light weight and comes with a carry strap. The mat itself is very thick and comfortable. It provides a good support. The color is accurate to the photos as well.

Similar to the previous comments, I don’t think it is exactly 1” thick. The color is slightly darker/dull in person. No cracks or rips on mine. Looks good to me!

I love this 72” yoga mat! The color is beautiful, and the thickness of the mat helps take the stress off my knee injury. I’m about 5’ 5” and have plenty of room to stretch and relax. It’s also easy to clean.

Con: Not much, but keep sharp items away because it damages easily.

I would recommend this product.

I LOVE IT. the only problem i kind of habe is when i’m moving like crunches i could hear myself but it doesn’t bother me but i think if it does i could put a trowel or smthn under u idk but it’s so cute i was hesitant bc of some reviews and the color is actually rly cute :)) it did take a while to get here or just ship it (like a wk or two) but once it shipped it was pretty quick. the smell isn’t as strong as i thought the only time i smelled it was when i put my nose up to it 😭😭

This mat is like a gigantic marshmallow, it’s so soft and thick. I ordered this mat because when I do sit ups my tailbone would hurt really bad, with this , I don’t even feel it 🫶🏼It’s amazing! I’m 5’2” and I can lay all the way out. The only thing is when you first open it you get a rotten egg smell , I don’t know why, but it went away right away.

Let me just say that this mat is the softest thing I have ever felt! Although there were some tears when I received it, it was just so tiny I barely even noticed then. It hasn’t teared while I use it, but I’m also not a hard core yoga person so I’m probably not using it enough lol. I have to admit because the mat is so thick, I look ridiculous carrying a jumbo sized item around but honestly idgaf! If you’re on the fence to buying this, take my review as a sign!! Its worth it!

I purchased many yoga mat in the past for my dog (to protect her joint) including extra large size. This is the best yoga mat purchased. Thick and provides excellent cushioning for my dogs. I placed this below sofa (already have dog stair but often my dog jumps up and down instead).

This yoga mat is perfect for hardwood floors. When doing workouts on my back you can’t feel the floor. Nice cushion to it and exactly what I was looking for.

Oh my knees love this yoga mat! I had to back off any yoga due to my knees hurting so bad. This mat is amazing!! Like stepping on air, very cushy. The only issue is there seems to be a permanent impression from straps since arrival. I have not had the need to take it out, so I am leaving strap off to avoid additional impressions.

I have back problems and I am starting to work out again. It helps so much having a thicker mat to relieve some of that pain. The color is stunning. The straps are not the greatest a bit too flimsy in my opinion. But they are not the main attraction. I would definitely recommend to my plus size people or my people with back issues.

I'm absolutely ENRAGED I didn't notice this months ago before the return window closed. If I could give a negative star rating I'd do so. I don't even want to give one star. It's never been around ANYTHING sharp. Not even remotely.

The mat is as extra thick and long as promised. I couldn't stop myself from tearing open the box to try it out. Laying on its bouncy texture, it proved quite plush and the ribbed texture was pleasing. It's larger and heavier than the others I've had in the past, but I'm not complaining. The moisture resistant texture promises that it's easy to clean and built to last, and I believe it.

Looks like how thick it is out of the box will depend on how tightly it was packed, and the ability of it to spring back into shape.

Mine came out of the box, doing "the maths", it looks like each part of the roll averaged to be a smidge less than 7/8". It's been a couple weeks, have not yet re-measured to see if it expanded. I did notice slight compression marks from where the roll-up carrier had been, but they are barely noticeable now. I can see them if I intentionally look for them. I do so when I'm searching for the pea under my bed mattress.

I use this on the floor when doing a gym ring workout. It's very comfortable to stand on, very thick. Doesn't seem to slip a whole lot but I have only been using a couple weeks so I will update later if there are issues. I've only been on my knees a couple times but it seemed well padded. It only has ribs on one side though, the upward facing one you stand on has ribs and the company logo. The bottom is completely flat.

In short for the price this seemed to be a no nonsense buy to me, you could definitely spend more and get less. The large size is a plus, I am a big guy and plan to do hamstrings using resistance bands and other things which will have me laying down on it.

To improve this product I would say rib both sides, for his and her pleasure (but it's 2022 so don't forget their pleasure, too). Maybe make the carrier strangle the pad a little less or improve the bounce back.

A little less than 1in but still very thick, dense, & stable! I love this mat. As someone with knee issues I can say that I can kneel on this for a long time with no issues. It’s thick enough that I’ve almost napped during shavasana, but it does not slip when transitioning between poses. I am pleased with my purchase & would recommend this mat. I was looking for an eco-friendly mat but cannot attest to its material compliance, but there was no toxic-smell upon opening the package.

Let me start off by saying I had absolutely no idea it would look this thick rolled up. I defiantly didn’t put two abs two together, so if you’re like me, here’s your warning. 2nd pic I have a standard 1/8th inch mat next to this one- it’s definitely not subtle at all haha. It’s very VERY kushy but also pretty embarrassing to carry around if your planning on taking it to a class or gym. It passes the bony but and knee test, but I’m probably going to return it to get the 1/2 inch instead just for practical transportation.

This mat makes my body so happy! I love yoga, but have always felt limited on what poses I could hold because of the pain in certain parts of my body (mainly my knees). This mat eliminates all of those worries. The thickness of this mat is so comfortable and really adds a solid amount of cushion to any movement made on it. It is a bit bulky because of this thickness, but the carrying strap helps keep it contained when it's not in use; and then makes it easy to cart around if you need a mat on the go. It is plenty long, but I do wish it was a bit wider - that's just a personal preference. The only real disappointment I had with this was the fact that it must have been hit by a box cutter somewhere in the fulfillment process. It made a nice slice right on the front of the mat. Luckily it didn't cut all the way through (thank goodness it's thick!) so I'm still able to use the mat without any real issues.

Wow! Oh wow!!! This yoga mat is like walking on air. The 1 inch is so soft and feels so good on your feet. We bought this for a college yoga mat foe beginners and this will help so much. It doesn’t hurt your knees or wrist at all.

I took a close up picture of the mat. The carrying case left marks and the tape that held it together. So that was a little disappointing.
It is easy to roll up and put back in the carrying case. I am so happy I got the 1 inch. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be too thick. I never want to use a train mat again.

I grabbed this Retrospec Solana Yoga Mat 1" & 1/2" Thick w/Nylon Strap for Men & Women for my wife and I - we both do exercise on our rental floor which is literally a cement slab with carpet - no padding or the padding is so old you CANNOT feel it! She has been wanting something really thick and when I saw this, I grabbed it. SO glad I did. It’s a great color - the maroon is nice. But it’s the thickness that wins for both of us. Be it exercise or yoga, so far it’s working well. No more sore knees, shortened workouts or stopped yoga because we are uncomfortable. I’ve not used it yet (I’m recovering from surgery), but she says it’s wonderful and blows away the others we’ve had that are far thinner. It has a nice feel to it and so far we have not had issues with it moving or slipping. Very happy with this Retrospec Solana Yoga Mat 1" & 1/2" Thick w/Nylon Strap for Men & Women.

I bought the one inch mat in “wild spruce”. IT IS WONDERFUL! I have never had a one inch mat before - my current mat is one half inch - and this new one is like sitting in a freaking cloud.
The color is a little dark for my taste but it was one of the only colors available in the one inch thickness. But if you are looking for an alternative to a black mat this might be a nice change.
The mat is dense and high quality. It does not smell like plastic or chemicals, it is scent free. I also like that it has a strap around it for easier transport.
