This will connect to the AT&T rental gateway (proprietary combo modem/router).

Can be connected in a few seconds using WPS, connected to a PC via LAN cable, or using phone app. After connecting, finalize the configuration details and update the firmware.

This can be setup either to work as its own sub-network with a different network name or as a signal extension of the main network name.

Very useful to convert something like an old desktop PC without wireless to wireless. Also good to get a little bit extra signal range, about 20'.

Speed and bandwidth performance is adequate to run a laptop PC and wireless TV (e.g. FireStick) simultaneously. Works much better than low price entry level units. This unit is just enough for my residential needs where less expensive units were not.

Solves the issue of devices out of gateway range to a certain extent but has its fair share of limitations. Overall good all things considered.

One minor but remarkable drawback is it does mostly cover both outlets of a dual receptacle.

This is a nice extender. It works great for our setup. We're in a secondary home on the property and share utilities as well as WiFi we just had to make it reach our building. This did the trick. It's pretty easy to use. The tether app kinda stinks like my mother in laws cooking, but the online interface is about as perfect as a cloudless sunset! All in all I liked it so much I bought another! We have a truck load of smart devices connected to the 2 extenders. I used the second to extend the original extender WiFi output. We have 4 game consoles, 2 TVs, 3 cell phones, 2 tablets, laptop, 2 printers, light bar, 4 Alexas, 2 humidifiers, 4 smart plugs, several smart LED strips, a lamp, smart surge protector, fire stick, Roku, sound bar, 2 doorbells with cameras, 2 Smart door locks, a security camera, thermo/hygro sensor, and smart light bulbs out the wazoo connected to these 2 extenders and it all works great. We're both disabled and boy Alexa works hard at my house!

This wifi extender works pretty well. just put it in a good spot and you'll get extended range of your router. If I stand next to my router and connect to the main wifi network on my plan, I get 600-800mb/s. As I place the extender upstairs and use the extended network, I get about 80-100 which isn't so bad but could be better. Maybe I have too many solid walls in the way or there is too much distance between my extender and the router.

It is perfectly working with all devices, but I try to connect with Noorio security camera, it connect but after couple minutes the connection drop, so I have to connect back the original wifi router. But it is best for cellular, tablet, laptop or other devices but not with outdoor camera.

We recently switched to Verizon 5G 1000Mbps internet and the router is upstairs in my office. We were getting weak signals in our kitchen on our phones so I decided to get this extender. It’s been set up for over 24hrs so I decided to test the speeds and compare while in the kitchen. To my surprise I was getting a stronger signal connected to the original WiFi compared to the new “WiFi-EXT” option while at the dining table. Both were stronger than the ~30Mbps I’d been seeing before though. I decided to test it on the living room couch and then even tested after unplugging the extender wondering if maybe it was actually boosting the original WiFi range and the WiFi-EXT was just a secondary optional connection for less important devices. However the WiFi stayed strong at over 300Mbps without the extender plugged in. I was preparing the review and return it when I had trouble loading my orders page. I realized the edge of my connection must be near the kitchen sink which is under the window furthest from the window the router is at. I tested to be sure and it showed about 30Mbps. I plugged this extender back in near the sink rather than near the dining table and tested both again. It definitely gives a better signal while in the main kitchen area BUT I’m really not sure whether to keep it. $100 is pretty steep just to boost the one little section of the house. Especially since you have to manually choose which WiFi to join so I don’t see it being worthwhile having to swap to WiFi-EXT every time we enter the kitchen. We’ll likely return it but it definitely seems to do what it was designed for and would be useful if properly placed in a building suffering from larger dead space. However I’d probably look for an extender that extends the existing connections and doesn’t add a separate WiFi that you have to connect to unless you’ll exclusively use it for stationary devices. For reference our house is 2000SqFt. Images of speed tests attached. Each test involving the extender is marked EXT.

Looks great and was an easy setup. However, I bought this to assist with gaming as I am renting the 1st floor of a home and split the wifi with the landlord. But after a trial run yesterday I feel as if it made the gaming experience worse. I'll be updating this after I buy a ethernet cable and connect it to the extender to the console.

It is cheap compared to many other brands and it works just as well if not better
It works as will if not better than the more expensive better known models. I highly recommend it. Easy to setup and it is easy to use.

At first I was getting slower speeds than if I connected to the main router. That's because I had only selected to show 2Ghz range. I did a factory reset, and selected to show both 2Ghz and Ghz bands, and I get the same fast speed as if I connected to the main router. I was trying to connect my PS4 to the extender, and I was getting really slow speeds. That's because PS4 only picks up 2Ghz. Good thing this device has an ethernet port, which I was able to connect my PS4, and I get the speeds I want. Only problem though, it's been 10 minutes, and the final management page is still trying to finish. Though I am connected to the extender and have internet connection. During the first set-up I close the window, and I was not able to get back onto the management page. Now sure how long I have to wait. Second thing, during the first set-up, some of my devices were connected to the extender, but were not getting any internet. Device showed that it was getting internet, and some of the devices were getting internet; however, mac and PS4 were not, and sometimes my iphone did not get any connection either

I already had a wireless extender (a Linksys), however due to how our house is arranged, even with the extender installed the living room is very weak (the router is in the back bedroom the extender is in the master bedroom, the signal from the extender has to go through several walls so by the time it gets to the living room it's kinda weak). So I thought I'd give this TP-Link AC2600 a shot.

Installation was fast and easy, just plugged it in near the router, scanned for the new extender, logged into it's IP address, and with just a few mouse clicks, and it was working. Easy. Well then I started to think... can I extend the already installed Linksys range extender? So I reset the TP-Link, went into the master bedroom, plugged it in next to the Linksys extender, and sure enough it saw that signal just fine. Entered the password and everything seemed to be working. Removed it from the master bedroom, moved it closer to the living room (an outlet in the dining room), and BAM! I had a solid signal in the living room.

Not only is the signal solid, its not even slowed down enough to matter (see attached photo).

The Android app works well which was a bit shocking to me as most of these apps tend not to work.
While connected to the TP-Link in the living room, I have not experienced any drops or disconnects at all, so it's really stable.

The ONLY downside I have for it, is that no matter how you plug it in it will block the other outlet. So kiss both AC outlets goodbye when you plug this in.

We have a 2,700 square foot, two-story house and the router is upstairs. The WiFi signal is very weak at the other end of the house, so we need a solution. This range extender was easy to set up, but first I had to figure out if my router was dual-band. My Netgear router doesn’t have any indication whether it’s dual-band or not, so I Googled the model number. I found out it was dual-band, so I had to use Option ONE on the Quick Setup Guide in order to get both 2.4 GHz and 5GHz to connect. Setup was very simple and the Start Up Guide is good. Once the unit was up and running, I relocated it to the distant part of the house and saw a big difference. Before installing the extender, I was seeing 3.06 Mbps down and 0.56 Mbps up. With the extender, I see 28.29 Mbps down and 34.89 Mbps up. My only complaint so far -- and it’s a small one – is that the unit is big. Plugging it into a standard wall outlet basically covers both outlets. But so far, it works and all is well.
