Roku Streaming Stick 4K – HDR & Dolby Vision Roku Streaming Device for TV with Voice Remote & Long-Range Wi-Fi – Free & Live TV

This is an easy and simple to use streaming stick. Fits into a HDMI port and can power the stick using a USB port on the TV. Comes with easy to follow instructions to install and setting up to start streaming. So far using with a hot spot on phone and haven’t seen any lag and has been reliable. Using in RV for trips and is a good value for watching TV on the road.

I've already been using a earlier Roku. This one is easier because it doesn't require a separate remote for volume and other things. Couldn't be simpler to set up. I will say that the cord sticks up oddly from the top of the USB device. This seems strange, an unusual place to put a connector slot. I thought maybe I had it connected wrong but there is no other way to connect the Roku USB on my tv.

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is a solid device for streaming, and it has definitely enhanced my TV-watching experience. Setting it up was a breeze—plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi, and you're good to go. The picture quality is fantastic, especially for 4K content, and navigating through the interface is smooth and intuitive. I love how portable it is, making it easy to take with me when traveling or moving between rooms.

However, there is one downside. While the device works great most of the time, occasionally it has a bit of lag when switching between apps or starting a new stream. It’s not a huge issue, but it can be a little annoying if you’re in a hurry or want to avoid delays.

Despite that, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is a great product overall, and I would still recommend it for anyone looking for a convenient and quality streaming device.

Received it in a timely manner. Easy to install. My only problem with it and my confusion is that once I got logged in and everything else I went to log into Netflix, and someone else's account was on it.

I love all the choices you have with using a roku and especially love my roku tv. My only issue is using the stick you can't pull in your antenna channels in live tv, although everything tells tells you how to do it. The tv inputs is missing from the settings, therefore you have to watch directly from your tv source if you want to see your local channels

This is such a great media stick for its price. It’s got great pictures quality and is very easy to set up. I love that I can rent or buy movies off of it. I was able to have it running in less than 10 minutes. The only things I have a bit of issues with are I can’t use non Roku speakers or headphones with my media stick. I have to go through the Roku app to use my headphones and speakers instead of hooking them up via my projector . I can’t use the Bluetooth on my projector. I also wish I had full use of the remote when using it on my projector. I don’t have access to the volume or the power button and can only use it for the apps.

Roku Ordered 8 Oct 2023. Delivered 10 Oct 2023. First attempted use 13 Oct 2023. The remote ceased to function during initial setup. I had to call and spend 30 minutes of troubleshooting on the phone with some international support desk person. He said it was probably dead batteries. I did not have any AAA batteries at home, so I had to go out and buy some. Bought new batteries and they worked fine. The batteries in the package claimed to be "Duracell OEM" (see photos) but it is hard to understand why Roku would ship products with crap "brand X" batteries that are nearly dead.

Dislike - Super Slow Shipping - most everything on ROKU you have to purchase each channel separately - free channels are Crapy non watchable 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 LIKE - NOT MUCH OF ANYTHING SO FAR

UPDATE: We’re about 9 months in with this device and the remote has stopped working consistently. Seems like every other time I go to use it, the volume and mute buttons won’t work at all. Sometimes, I’m unable to use the other buttons, as well. We may have to purchase a new remote at some point if this continues happening more and more frequently.

I really like this most of the time. But sometimes (about daily) it has connection issues. Sometimes, it will cut out and display the screen in the photo. Other times the TV will act like nothing is connected at all. Usually, this can be fixed by switching from HDMI3 (The input that the Roku is connected to) to HDMI1 (an input that nothing is connected to) and back again on the tv. Other times, however, this does not work and the Roku needs to be unplugged and plugged back in. Overall, it’s not the end of the world, but not what I expected when it’s brand new.
Otherwise I really like this. I like how it has a lot of apps, channels and free content, I like the voice option as it saves my hands from hurting when typing things in, and I like that the Roku remote can control the TV power and volume as well.

Hooked this up to my projector (TopVision brand), and it setup very easily!

We had to replace our older version Roku to watch our Amazon Prime. (At least that’s what we were being told) This new Roku was pretty straightforward and easy to set up as long as you’ve got your passwords readily available. Loving the voice command on the remote and volume & power buttons as well since our previous remote didn’t have those features. One large complaint is the plug is not polarized. We do not leave our devices & chargers plugged in and I keep plugging the Roku in incorrectly because the plug is not polarized. I believe this is literally the only thing in our whole house besides a really old lamp from 1930 that does not have a polarized plug. Why couldn’t they have just added that one simple feature? Deducting one star for that annoyance.

I bought this specifically because I was having trouble with my old Roku Premiere+ being able to stream YouTube videos in 4K. It would always default to standard definition or worse and never get any better. This should not have been happening, as I have 100 mbps fiber internet service. For reference, YouTube 4K requires 20 mbps, which I have 5x the requirement for.

So, I decided that because this model was touting "long-range wireless" that maybe this would remedy the problem. It did not. The claims are that this model has 2x the wireless speed of previous Rokus. Maybe this is true, but the actual speed it does get is absolutely terrible.

I have attached two pictures to this review. One is of the wireless speed that the Roku is saying it has (purple screen), which is 2 mbps. Bear in mind, this is about 10ft from my wireless router. The second picture is of a speed test that I ran (on the WiFi) of my iPhone literally laying on top of the Roku at the TV and it is getting 122 mbps up and down.

So, you can see why I am having so many issues with streaming in general with this thing. This device is only capable of utilizing 1.6% of the speed that my wireless router is delivering. My advice to most people looking at this thing, avoid at all costs. There are many other streaming options that will reliably deliver the speeds you need for proper streaming.

Update: 10/23/21

So, after a week of pulling my hair out with this thing, I decided to format it to return it. Thankfully, I decided to give it one last shot before sending it back.

I’m glad I did, because after the format, it started miraculously working for about 3 days now. It gets 150+ mbps. I checked all of the settings to see what exactly had changed. Turns out it was my wireless router assigning a terrible channel to the Roku!! It put it on channel 1 initially. Same with my old Roku Premiere. Both were getting 2 mbps. For whatever reason, it assigned this Roku after formatting to channel 48 on my network and that fixed everything.

So, your mileage really may vary here. You may not have the router problem I had and it works flawlessly, or you may have the same or worse. I still kind of feel like this could be an issue involving Roku, like the Roku maybe should tell the router “Hey, this channel sucks, please give me a different one!”

I have updated my review to 4 stars because it is the best streaming device out of all that I have tried. Roku is a great company with a great UI. I just can’t quite give it 5 stars because of the WiFi issues because I don’t know if the blame is fully on my router, since I don’t have any other devices having issues.
