This is a sophisticated ankle support. It comes with a separate sleeve which is really not necessary if you wear socks. I play tennis several times a week, and it is really rough on you feet, with quick running, stopping and turning. This ankle support provides a great deal of stabilizing, in every direction. It has an internal sock, with two sets of laces.. so you have to put this on without a shoe. You tighten the lower and upper laces by pulling tabs.. Then you do a criss cross wrap with two long straps that go over the top on your foot then loop underneath and back up the sides. The last step is a strap the wraps around the top. It was a little confusing at first but there are instructions, with good pictures. I really liked this ankle brace, but it seemed a little too restrictive to use while playing. This is better for a situation where you might have some pain or soreness after your activity. I have no medical background, I can only comment on what helps me. Obviously, if you have a serious issue, go see your doctor. Overall I liked the multiple directions of support this provided.

This ankle brace from ZOELION caught my attention with its thoughtful features such as the adjustability of a lace-up brace without manual lacing (the laces are adjusted via Velcro) and the resulting easy-on convenience. It is constructed just as well as it appears to be in the marketing images, but in use, it ended up causing a problem for me rather than solving one.

This is my first time using an ankle brace, which I hoped would address a mild but sometimes limiting pain that is brought on by prolonged periods of standing or after walking several miles within a day. For the reasons I described above, donning the brace is extremely easy, and should even be doable for people with limited mobility/dexterity (if you can put on a shoe, this should be no problem). Once on and tightened, my ankle did in fact feel well-supported, but a new problem revealed itself once I stated walking: every footfall on the brace side feels unstable -- I suspect this is because the brace wraps around my arch and therefore modifies its shape as it hits the ground. Whatever the reason, the result is pain on a part of my ankle that had no pain before, along with new pains on my foot, knee and hip. Fortunately, these new pains were temporary and subsided once I removed the brace.

The unexpected silver lining for me was the included compression sleeve which is meant to be worn under the brace -- since the pain I hoped to address is mild, the slight support offered by the sleeve along with a sock and shoe actually helps me more than the brace itself does.

I'm deducting one star because it didn't work for me, but the materials, construction, and price are so good that it would be unfair to rate it lower, especially when you consider that our bodies and related pains are all different. I actually do recommend you try this, and hope that you have better luck with it than I did.
